Renowned Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has addressed the issue of online harassment in light of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's pursuit of justice over deepfake pornographic videos. Reacting to Meloni's legal actions seeking approximately Rs 90 lakh in damages, Ranaut emphasized that success does not shield women from sexism and cyberbullying.

In an Instagram story, Ranaut shared a news report detailing Meloni's case and expressed her stance, stating, "No woman can escape sexism, bullying, and harassment, and we think being successful is going to make us feel safe and respected. Shame." Meloni's legal battle stems from a series of deepfake pornographic videos allegedly circulated in 2020, for which she is set to testify in court in Sassari, Italy, on July 2. Authorities are investigating a 40-year-old individual and his 73-year-old father, suspected of producing the videos by digitally replacing Meloni's face with that of an adult film actor.

On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut's latest endeavor was the film "Tejas," released in October 2023. She is now gearing up for her ambitious project, "Emergency," a film she not only stars in but also directs. Portraying the role of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, the movie is slated for release in 2024. Additionally, Ranaut has a biopic of Noti Binodini in the pipeline.
